ABOUT US

CAPSTONE MISSION SOCIETY serves under INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN MISSION SERVICES (ICMS) as an agent involved with outreach in Canada and Romania. ICMS administers donor receipting and regulatory matters with the CRA and IRS.

OUR PURPOSE: To Actively Facilitate the Advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

INSPIRATION: Matthew 21:42 … Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: " 'the stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? NIV In this parable Jesus used stone masonry to explain a spiritual truth. He referred to the capstone as most important because it holds the building together. He foreknew the Chief Priests would reject and kill Him; even so He would triumph as head of the Church, the Capstone or Chief Cornerstone.

MOTIVATION: ‘Sharing Hope for a Better Way’.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe that all Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God, and is therefore the ultimate authority for belief and behavior.

2. We believe in one God who exists as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

3. We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh; we affirm his virgin birth, sinless humanity, divine miracles, bodily resurrection, ascension, ongoing mediatorial work, and personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe all men and women being created equally in the image of God have intrinsic dignity and worth. People are unable to be in right relationship with God due to original and continual rebellion against him. They need to be made alive spiritually and restored to a relationship with God.

5. We believe that though we deserve eternal punishment and separation from God for our disobedience, God loves us and sent Christ to die in our place to restore our relationship with God.

6. We believe that God makes us right with himself when we put our faith in Christ and what he has done for us through his life, death and resurrection.

7. We believe in the final resurrection of the dead, both of believers in Christ and of unbelievers.

8. We believe that believers in Christ will experience eternal life with God and unbelievers will experience eternal separation from him.

9. We believe in the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling presence and transforming power assures believers and equips them for holy living, effective service and the present day use of the Spiritual Gifts.

10. We believe in the Church, the spiritual union of all believers commissioned to make disciples of all nations.

We are a group of individuals passionate about sharing the Hope found in a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

MILTON TORIO – Executive Director

Involved in Evangelism since 1986 and ordained in 2003 after graduating from Liberty Bible College, Abbotsford BC.
Post-Secondary Training in Sales, Marketing, Property Management and Alcohol/ Drug Addiction Counselling.
Member Missionary with Grace Evangelical Bible Church, Abbotsford, BC.

KATHI TORIO – Secretary Treasurer

Kathi is involved in Evangelism and Personal mentoring since 1983.
She is an accomplished Gospel Singer using her talent to glorify the Lord since her youth.
For many years Kathi operated a home based Medical Transcription business. Her writing and communication skills are very valuable to this ministry.
Member Missionary with Grace Evangelical Bible Church, Abbotsford, BC.

HENRY ESAU - Director / Chair

Henry, currently retired, spent the last 20 years as a Property Manager.
Past Registrar for 12 years with Providence College and Seminary, Manitoba.
Former Deacon and Elder of Grace Evangelical Bible Church and a member since 1990.

CLARK HITCHCOCK - Director

Clark is a Realtor with Re-max Nyda Realty in Chilliwack.
Member of Mountain View Evangelical Free Church, Chilliwack since 1993, founding Director and Chairman of the Board for 10 years.
Presently Chairman of the Finance Committee at his church.

CLIFF SALMON – Director

Cliff is a member of Grace Church, Abbotsford.
During his past 20+ years in retirement, Cliff has been very active in a variety of church related ministries.
His experience, wisdom and encouragement is very much appreciated.

KEN FLANDERS – Director

With over 30 years of sales and marketing experience, Ken’s ability to gain the confidence of clients, management, and support teams shows in the success of his client’s sales.
He currently works at Home Depot as a sales department head.
Ken is an integral part of this ministry serving as a prayer partner, director and fundraising consultant.

CALVIN & CONNIE CAPSOTINSKY / VICTORY HOUSE

As a result of his journey to sobriety and wholeness, Calvin, along with his wife Connie, have started a discipleship ministry called ‘Victory House’.
They are active members of Bakerview Church, Abbotsford. Calvin serving on the Mission Board and Connie involved in the meal coordination for an outreach ministry through Bakerview.
Calvin has completed courses in Human Relations, Counselling, has a B.A. in Biblical Studies and is a certified Life Skills Coach.
